Exclusive Interview With Legendary Actor and AMC Networks 'Parish' Star Skeet Ulrich

By Tammy Reese

AMC Networks did not come to play in 2024. The TV shows just keep getting better this year and next up is crime drama, Parish, the six-episode high-octane thriller which premieres Sunday, March 31 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. Starring and executive produced by Emmy® and SAG® Award-nominee and Critics Choice® Award-winner Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Mandalorian). Giancarlo plays the lead role of Gracian “Gray” Parish.

I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing legendary actor and co-star Skeet Ulrich (Scream, Riverdale) who plays the role of an old acquaintance to Gray by the name of Colin. Skeet sat down with me to chat about the highly anticipated series, his character, the bond between Gray (Giancarlo Esposito) and Colin, what audiences can brace themselves for ahead of this amazing show in a non spoiler way and more. Click on the video below to view the exclusive interiew.

Skeet and Giancarlo have authentic and captivating on screen chemistry. These roles are perfect for them both. I binged watched the 6 episodes and loved each moment and hope for a season 2. Any one who loves fast cars, a good family crime drama with themes of friendship, revenge, secrets being revealed as well as redemption moments, you will love this series. Dominated by an well cast ensemble of actors, Skeet stands apart for his remarkable acting ability. He owned Colin from nailing the accent to perfection to being the fun in the heat of many intense moments. Get ready folks because Colin also brings some trouble.

I've been a fan of Skeet's since 'Scream' debuted in 1996, but I've never seen Skeet in this light before. At 54, he's looking fine and bringing us the best of fine acting. Colin is definitely the character to watch, Skeet is fantastic! I’d highly recommend everyone check out Parish. I was mesmerized and blown away.

More on Parish

In the series, Gray is a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in New Orleans. After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gray on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate.

Shot on-location in New Orleans, Parish also stars SAG® Award-nominee Paula Malcomson (Watchmen, The Hunger Games, Ray Donovan) as Parish’s wife and mother to his two children, Rose; Arica Himmel (Mixed-ish, Black-ish) as Gray and Rose’s daughter Makayla; and Dax Rey (The Good Fight, Chicago Fire) as The Horse’s son Luke.

Emmy®, SAG® and Critics Choice® Award-winner Bradley Whitford (The West Wing, Get Out, The Handmaid’s Tale) recurs as Anton, the charming and intelligent face of industrial business in Louisiana who covertly heads a criminal organization. SAG® Award-nominee Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid’s Tale, Orphan Black) guest stars as Sister Anne, who has a mysterious past with Gray.

Parish is based on the hit U.K. series The Driver, created by Danny Brocklehurst and Jim Poyser. It’s produced by AMC Studios, in association with A+E Studios and Thruline Entertainment. Brocklehurst serves as co-creator and executive producer. Eduardo Javier Canto and Ryan Maldonado serve as showrunners and executive producers; Giancarlo Esposito also executive produces alongside Brocklehurst, Poyser, Theo Travers, Jolyon Symonds and David Morrissey for Scribbler Films, Josh Kesselman, Danny Sherman, Barry Jossen and Tana Jamieson Red Production’s Nicola Shindler.
