We obtained an exclusive interview to chat with the father ahead of Father’s Day.
Please tell us about your life as a dad?
My life as a dad is incredible. My son (Ariyon) and my daughter (Harmonee) inspire and push me so much and they don’t even know it. Besides for God and the Kingdom, all that I do is for them. I’m opening doors for them.
How have you navigated being a single dad and maintained a successful career?
I’m a single dad with my son. My daughter’s mom and I co-parent. Many years ago, being a single dad to my son used to make me upset, confused, and sad and also used to make my son feel the same. His mom left him with me one day and we still have no answers as to reasons why, nor is there any communication from her — not even on birthdays or holidays. Some days it still gets to us, but we don’t and won’t let it overcome us.
Since he was 2 years old to now he’s 13, we have learned to use it as fuel to keep going and a reminder to keep Faith. God has made the way for me to be fully present as “mom” and dad for my son everyday while also being full present in my career in music, which is my purpose. All I can say is that “it’s all God” — that I’m still going, have done the things I’ve done and have provisions set for the future.

What do you love most about fatherhood?
I love to see the smiles on my childrens’ faces when there’s good news or the times they make me feel like their superhero. It’s so inspiring to me because many times I don’t get that feeling besides from them and God, of course.
What are some of the best lessons you’ve taught your children?
Discipline. It’s a tool I’ve taught them and am still teaching them. In this world, if you allow things to just “go with the flow” you will never reach your aim. I’m not raising “go with the flow” type of children because I’m not that type of man.
What are you working on these days?
I’ve been in the studio so much over the years writing and producing for industry artists, internationally, as well as independent artists. I’m thankful for that. I rarely release music of my own, now that I’ve been writing and producing more, but so far this year I’ve already released three new songs. I’ve also stepped into acting and have been casted in a lead role for an upcoming film entitled, “Building A Love, Like Ours”, which is set to begin filming this month, June 2023.
What are you most excited about for 2023?
I’m excited about ALL that God has for me. His promises and provisions help me use the talents He has given me.
What else would you like our readers to know about you?
As mentioned, I’ve been doing a lot of writing and producing for others and I will continue to do so; but right now, I’d like readers to know and experience Tejai Moore the artist through my recently released songs, “Letter To God’, “Letter To God (Remix), and “Like Butter”. There’s so much more to come.
