What have been some challenges you’ve faced while pursuing your career? Are you still encountering those challenges? If not, how have you overcome them?
Dr. Sasha: One of the biggest challenges I’ve been faced with is having balance. It's tough to balance wearing so many hats such as Mother, Boss, Soror, Sister, and Friend. I am a work in progress and how I combat such is by planning properly. My calendar is everything to me.

Mental Health awareness is a conversation that must continue to stay in the spotlight. What have been your experiences with Mental Health?
Dr. Sasha: My Mental Health Advocacy began due to personal experiences. Those specific experiences gave me the push needed to dive right in wanting to become an expert to help the community in my full capacity. I want my legacy as a Mental Health Professional to be that my organization is left with an abundance of resources so that it may thrive and continue providing for the community for generations to come.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, what keeps you motivated to continue this career?
Dr. Sasha: My how is honestly the motivation that I gain from being a mother to my two boys. If I did not have my sons, I might not have had the willpower to achieve to reach the heights that I currently have. Basically, I wanted to be an example for them!
Congratulations on being a published author! What can you tell us about your books and how can we find them?
Dr. Sasha: My books pull experiences from my personal journeys and upbringing. It is my hope that they serve as motivational guides to keep pushing for the stars! They are available for purchase on Amazon.
What do you hope for the future when it comes to mental health awareness?
Dr. Sasha: My hopes for the future of Mental Health are that the mask be removed. We all have and downs, none of us are perfect! Some people take a different approach to life which may require help. So, I would like to see the stigma removed and replaced with acceptance.
