It’s time to get into the spirit of Christmas! This taster event for what is to come, set the stage for the 91st Anniversary of the extravagant Hollywood Christmas Parade supporting a great cause: Marine Toys for Tots.
The fabulous event gave a sneak preview of what to expect at the main forthcoming Hollywood Christmas Parade. Guests were treated to a feast for their eyes: featuring cultural dancers and drummers, magicians, Marines, Santa Claus, celebrities, VIP’s and Christmas Carol singers: in perfect harmony singing to accompanying beat boxing that delivered a phenomenal performance and raised the roof!

The Chinese dragon dancing was energetic and captivating accompanied by the resonating drums that played loudly. The PAVA (Pacific American Volunteer Association) Korean traditional fan dancers dressed in beautiful vibrant colorful traditional costumes called Hanbok were a real cultural spectacle to behold. “We have been practicing since July and every weekend.
We have been preparing a lot for this day” shared Lucy Lee one of the young dancers.

This event that supports less fortunate and impoverished children, enables them to receive and open presents on Christmas day and bring a smile to their little faces. Just what the spirit of Christmas is about: giving and showing kindness.
Marine Sergeant Fernando Flores of North Los Angeles County explained ‘’Events like this always bring awareness to our cause and really helps us to get more donations so we can give those less fortunate kids something to unwrap for Christmas day’’. When asked who donates these toys, he went on ‘’Disney is a big donor as is Lego. Large corporations like this are donors but so do smaller organizations such as restaurants who do toy drives and drop off the toys to our locations for distribution’’.

In the background, the Jingle 5 Christmas Carolers brought the stage to life, with the singing of “Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Jingle all the way!” Revelers couldn’t help but dance and sing along, spreading the contagious holiday cheer throughout Hollywood.

Renowned magicians Mat O’Neill and Nick Dopuch from Masters of Illusions, entertained on the day. ‘’I’ll be in the main parade’’ explained Matt O Neill " My signature magic is I love connecting with the audience. I started out doing more closeup hand magic but in recent times I’ve gravitated towards mind reading and psychological illusion, a way to hopefully connect myself with the audience’’, Matt also performs regularly at iconic landmark The Magic Castle in Hollywood. I decided to move on quickly when he told me he could read people’s minds!

The grand finale that saw the crowd’s excitement rise to new levels was the arrival of Santa Claus himself ‘Ho ho ho and Merry Christmas Happy holidays to you all!’ he bellowed.
Celebrities and VIP’s participated enthusiastically in this festive occasion. Celebrity actress and Daytime TV Queen of long running series’ The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful whose very own star features on the Hollywood Walk of Fame shared her excitement ‘’I’ve done this Parade for years and I absolutely love it -it’s the 91st year. For me it signals the beginning of the holiday season. I’m thrilled to be part of this and plus all the people come out on the street and wave and say hi to everyone and it’s just great!” Kate Linder also stars in the recently released Feature Film, Little White Lies alongside Kate Hudson, Don Johnson and Michael Shannon. A must see.

It will certainly be a festive extravaganza that promises to deliver an unforgettable showcase featuring over 80 celebrities and VIP’s, 15 Pre -Parade and Parade Performers, 10 award winning bands, 6 larger- than- life -four -story character balloons, 3 colorful floats, 9 novelties and 39 movie open top cars. Of course, Santa Claus and The Grinch will be center stage!
