Rainy days can become a major inconvenience for people living in a typically sunny region like Los Angeles. Not only do they have to deal with the possibility of destruction that rain can cause, but they could also struggle to stay productive and active.
A few days of dampened spirits and pouring rain can turn someone from lazy to seriously unmotivated and stuck in idleness until the sun dispels the gloom.
There are better things to do than binge on Netflix movies.
Go for a walk: Put on a raincoat and rain boots, and go for a stroll. Enjoy your time in the rain! Take in the sights and smells of rain in a typically dry region.
Read a motivating book: Enjoy relaxing reading time in your home while it rains outside. Or curl up with a hot cup of tea while watching the raindrops.
Spend time indoors playing games: Play board games with your friends or family while the rain falls outside.
Catch up on home chores: Take the opportunity to do some spring cleaning, get rid of the old, and make room for the new.
Rainy days are perfect for experimenting with new delicious and healthy recipes in the kitchen.
1. Energizing Coconut Kale Bowl offers a nutritious and soothing way to spend the afternoon.
Ingredients:
-1/4 cup uncooked quinoa
-1 cup raw kale, chopped
-1 large banana, sliced
-1/2 large avocado, sliced
-1/4 cup shredded coconut
-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-Pinch of sea salt
-1/4 cup water
Instructions:
Cook the quinoa by adding it to a medium-sized pot with 1/4 cup of water. Bring the quinoa to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and cover the pot with a lid. Let the quinoa simmer for about 12 minutes or until all the water is absorbed. Then, remove the quinoa from the heat and let it cool.
Mix the kale, banana, avocado, coconut, and cinnamon in a medium-sized bowl until everything is combined.
1. Hearty Chili: This simple dish is warm and filling, perfect for rainy days.
Start by heating olive oil in a large pot and adding diced onions and garlic. Cook until the onions are soft, and pour in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and broth. Add the chili seasoning and stir to combine. Then add beans, corn, and other desired ingredients, such as bell peppers or zucchini. Simmer for at least an hour and season with salt and pepper. Serve your chili with crusty bread, sour cream, and cheese for a complete meal.

Have dinner together while listening to the calming sound of rain slicks, and then either retire to a cozy corner of the home or try an outdoor activity. Take a long stroll in the rain. Skipping the gym when it rains will likely make you feel lazier, unmotivated, and even more depressed, so it is best to show up at the gym and proceed to get your workout in even if it's raining; surprisingly you will find the regulars there rain or shine, you'll pat yourself on the back for showing up, making it an excellent opportunity for bonding and camaraderie.
Besides, physical activity boosts your mood, helps you maintain a healthy weight, improves cognition, and enhances sleep.
Finally, take the time to appreciate nature's beauty, from the lush green of the foliage to the birdsong in time with the gentle trickle of the rain.
