“Swimming with Sharks” Premieres Exclusively on The Roku Channel on April 15

“Swimming with Sharks,” an official selection of SXSW, will premiere exclusively on The Roku Channel on April 15, 2022, with a full season drop. The news was announced recently along with an official full-length trailer debut, just hours before the series premiere screening event at the festival in Austin.

The highly anticipated drama led by Diane Kruger and Kiernan Shipka, and from Kathleen Robertson, who serves as creator and showrunner, is about the dark side of the Hollywood studio system and an assistant who turns the tables on an abusive boss. We’re all in the industry, and this entire series is one intense but intriguing situation you just can’t look away from.

Filled with psychological twists and turns, the series’ gripping storylines paired with powerhouse performances will leave audiences on the edge of their seat. Donald Sutherland, Thomas Dekker, Finn Jones, Erika Alexander, Ross Butler, and Gerardo Celasco round out the incredible cast.

I could not stop watching this 6 episode series. I wanted more episodes. It is soooo good! The script is intense, each shot tells a story and has a purpose. The actor's chemistry on screen is so entertaining every second. Swimming With Sharks is a brilliant masterpiece that everyone should watch.

The series shines a light on toxic work behaviors, as well as jealousy, sexual harassment, and obsession in the film industry. This isn't a film trying to make a statement. This is a film to entertain. The cast and crew did that extremely well.

“Swimming with Sharks” is written by showrunner Kathleen Robertson. Check out my interview with Kathleen here:

The series is directed by Tucker Gates. Chris Cowles, Liz Destro, Stephen Israel, Jay Cohen, and Dana Brunetti served as executive producers. The series was created in partnership with Lionsgate Television.

Viewers can watch all six 30-minute episodes for free when the series launches on The Roku Channel on April 15th.

Series Synopsis: When Lou Simms (Kiernan Shipka) starts her internship at Fountain Pictures she seems like a naïve Hollywood newcomer, awestruck by the studio’s notorious CEO, Joyce Holt (Diane Kruger). In truth, Lou has done extensive research on Joyce and landing this internship was no happy accident. As Lou’s obsession grows, she will do anything to get close to her idol.
