By Mohamed Ragab

Arts or art is a variety of human activities in the creation of visual, auditory or kinetic performance works, to express the author's creative or conceptual ideas or artistic skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.

Acting - Dancing - Drawing - Music

There were only six arts in the beginning, and the ancient Greeks classified them for this classification, namely: architecture, music, painting, sculpture, poetry, and dance. After that, cinema was introduced as a seventh art to the list of these six arts. The Italian-French critic Ricciotto Canudo,

Attempts to collect arts and the motive behind it

There were many attempts to bring the arts together in one creative work, beginning with the Greek era in which the attempts of artists to collect the arts were uninterrupted, and the Greeks succeeded in creating works of art that combine poetry, singing, dance and music, with a background of paintings and scenes drawn by the great plastic artists. At this time, when cinema appeared, it was able to combine all the arts in an integrated work.

The Seven Arts enable us to describe what the artist has done to analyze what is going on in a given piece and to communicate our ideas and findings using a common language. The educational significance of art

Introducing art as a basic subject within the school curricula contributes to enhancing students’ learning abilities. The educational benefits of art can be summarized as follows:

Improving language skills: Dramatic representation of stories and novels, for example, contributes to increasing students' readiness to learn writing and reading, in addition to the fact that studying drama arts positively affects the student's linguistic abilities.

Enhancing understanding of mathematics: Many recent studies show that music is linked to developing logical skills and understanding relationships between things.

Improving cognitive abilities: Visual arts and dance help develop creativity, thinking, and imagination skills.

Increasing the desire to learn: Art in its various forms contributes to enhancing competition, the values of teamwork among students, and reducing the possibility of them dropping out of school.

The economic importance of art lies in creating new job opportunities and increasing the workforce, which contributes significantly to increasing the gross domestic product and developing the country's economy, for example; Artistic revenues in California alone constitute a good percentage of the gross domestic product. In addition, art has an important role in supporting the tourism sector, as travelers for artistic purposes stay longer and with a greater rate of financial spending, compared to other tourists.

Engaging in artistic works relieves tension and stress, and improves mood. In addition, people who work in various artistic sectors feel self-esteem and satisfaction stemming from their ability to produce, represented by their artwork.

The social importance of art is represented in its ability to improve the living conditions of individuals, and participation in various artistic activities strengthens ties in society and increases its cohesion.

As for the cultural importance of art, it lies in its ability to promote a set of positive values in the hearts of individuals, such as expressing beliefs freely, increasing tolerance, and rejecting intolerance.

Art is one of the most important things left by man on the face of the earth and helped to develop humanity for the better. From the ideas of artists, technological innovations and inventions appeared that made life easier for people, and some artists actually contributed to that development through direct innovations. It is through the arts that the civilizations of peoples are measured and their extent of progress. It is proven that the ancient civilizations were among the most prominent of what they left to humanity is the arts that were represented in sculpture, photography, and others.

For thousands of years, people have been adorning themselves with ornaments jewelry and dyes. In most ancient societies, an individual's identity was known through the expressive art forms that denoted him, as in the models and styles of his clothing, body ornament, and dance habits, or from the ceremonial or collective symbolism of the signs represented in Totem. Which indicates his tribe or clan. The totam was decorated with inscriptions to tell the story of his ancestors or their history. In small societies, the arts expressed their life or culture, so the ceremonies and dances reflected the biographies and legends of their ancestors.
